The Peakite is a new way to interact with Derbyshire Cricket. We aim to fill the void left by national media newspapers to discuss and promote County Cricket, both men's and women's.

My name is Paul Fisher, I'm a freelance writer, broadcaster and commentator. I have been in the media industry since 2010 and have worked for a variety of companies including BBC Local Radio, Spotlight Sports Group, bet365, plus many others.

I commentated on and written about Football, Cricket and Baseball plus Tennis and Golf and other Sports, both Male and Female.

My personal highlights were commentating and pitch-side reporting at Wembley. Commentating on the 2019 Cricket World Cup Final and reporting for BBC Sussex in the County Championship cricket game at Derby.

Venturing into the world of written journalism is a daunting task, but one I'm really excited about. I have often been left frustrated with the lack of coverage over recent seasons about County Cricket, we at the Peakite expect to change that. We will bring you exclusive interviews, news stories, opinion pieces, feature articles plus audio podcasts for you to listen to.

To write and discuss about Derbyshire Cricket is a dream come true as I have been a member of the County Cricket Club for a number of years and have followed their peaks and troughs over many seasons.
