One-Day Cup Offers Derbyshire Chance To Right T20 Wrongs

As touched on in our previous article, it's been a long time since Derbyshire have reached the knockout phase of the One-Day Cup. Far too often in recent years, the 50 over format has passed the Falcons by. 2024 at least saw a very encouraging campaign where Derbyshire missed out on a first quarter-finals appearance since 2014 by virtue of a lower net run rate. However, last year witnessed the return of a poor group stage performance, with just one victory on the board.
While Mickey Arthur's main aim for 2026 is to guide Derbyshire to promotion in the red ball format, the opportunities on offer in this year's Metro Bank One-Day Cup tournament should not be downplayed.
