Randell Signs For Derbyshire Until End Of Season

Derbyshire have announced the signing of 31 year-old pace bowler Brett Randell as an overseas replacement for Muhammad Abbas for the remainder of the 2026 season. Randell, from New Zealand, has been brought into the Derbyshire squad with Abbas away on international duty with Pakistan.
In a recent interview with club media, Derbyshire's Head of Cricket Mickey Arthur explained that the bowling attack needed strengthening for the final run-in of the County Championship Division Two campaign. Arthur stated that Rory Haydon has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining an injury during the victory over Glamorgan in Group B of the Metro Bank One-Day Cup.
