Derbyshire Falcons have announced a significant development ahead of the club’s T20 Vitality Blast phase of the 2026 season. The club initially revealed earlier today on their website and social media platforms that Sufyan Moqim would no longer be available to play for the club during the first half of the group stage as planned. The Falcons stated that this was “due to a recent change to international commitments.”
Moqim, who turns 24 tomorrow, is a left-arm spin bowler who has made 19 T20 international appearances and four ODI appearances for Pakistan so far in his career. While the sudden absence of Moqim is certainly a blow for Derbyshire Falcons, Mickey Arthur has worked very quickly to sort out an overseas replacement.
