Derbyshire sign Spin Duo for T20 Blast

Derbyshire have signed spin pair Sufyan Moqim and Mohammad Ghazanfar for this year’s Vitality Blast T20 competition.
Moqim will be available for the first half of the competition while Ghazanfar, who is back for his second spell with the Falcons, will appear for the second half and knockout stages once his Indian Premier League commitments have ceased.
Moqim has been much sought after by franchises across the globe, with the 26-year-old’s wrist spin securing best figures of 5-3 against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo. He recently worked with Falcons’ Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur in the Bangladesh Premier League turning out for Rangpur Riders.
The Pakistani international said: “I’m excited to be joining the Falcons and working with Mickey again, he’s a great coach and I’m looking forward to playing in England.” Ghazanfar was the club’s leading wicket-taker in the T20 Blast in 2025, claiming 16 wickets including a spell of 2-5 in four overs,in a win against Yorkshire at Headingley. The 19-year-old has over 100 wickets in all formats and was named in the ICC Men’s ODI team of the year for 2024.
