Derbyshire’s New Zealand seamer Brett Randell led the charge with three wickets for 48 as Northamptonshire were dismissed for 310, trailing by 62 runs, on an attritional second day of this Rothesay County Championship clash at Wantage Road.
Ricardo Vasconcelos made 58, passing 900 runs for the season in an opening partnership of 97 with Luke Procter (54), who was captaining Northamptonshire for the 50th time in Championship matches.
