Derbyshire Falcons Women produced an excellent performance yesterday to beat Sussex Sharks Women by six wickets at The Central Co-op County Ground in League Two of the Women’s Vitality Blast.
In glorious weather conditions, the Falcons won the toss and elected to field first. Jon Dyson’s side stamped their authority on the game right from the off as Malisha Tennakoon took three early wickets to put Sussex immediately on the ropes. Resistance was shown by the Sharks wicketkeeper, Mollie Adams, as she made an impressive performance to reach a half century. However, Adams was dismissed very shortly after reaching that milestone, and the visitors never truly recovered from that.
