Falcons Women Fly To Victory Following Fearless Third-Wicket Partnership

A sensational double-century partnership between Lara Shaw and Lauren Kenvyn earned Derbyshire Falcons Women a seven wicket win over Sussex Sharks Women at Cricketfield Road in League Two of the Metro Bank Women's One-Day Cup. The result marked the club's second victory in a row in competitive games.
The hosts won the toss and elected to bat first in Horsham as Jon Dyson made two changes to the team that defeated Leicestershire Foxes Women away from home the previous weekend – Emily Hughes and Francesca Clarke stepped in to replace Rebecca Duckworth and Prisha Bedi.
The Sharks went on to set an imposing target for the Falcons to try and chase down as they reached 318-7 from their 50 overs. Nancy Harman top scored for Sussex with an excellent knock of 113 from 89 deliveries. Kenvyn was the pick of Derbyshire's bowling attack with figures of 3-44 from her 10 overs, which included one maiden. Unfortunately, conceding extras from wides continues to be a problem for Derbyshire and this will need to be worked on over the winter. A total of 19 wides during the innings allowed the Sharks to score over 300 overall
