Worcestershire Rapids Women comfortably defeated Derbyshire Falcons Women by 101 runs at The Copper Yard in League Two of the Metro Bank Women's One-Day Cup yesterday. The loss marks the Falcons' seventh defeat in a row in all competitions.
The hosts won the toss and elected to field first in their return to the 50 over format following the completion of this year's Women's Vitality Blast tournament. The visitors batted confidently at the crease to reach 304-8 from their allotted 50 overs, to set the Falcons a daunting target to try and chase down. In truth, Worcestershire's total could well have been a lot bigger had it not been for a flurry of late wickets in the closing stages of their innings.
