Derbyshire Falcons remain unbeaten in this year’s Second XI T20 Cup as their successive North Group games against Durham at Park Drive in Hartlepool both ended as no results on Tuesday and Wednesday thanks to the weather. Despite the shortened contests though, Derbyshire’s batters still managed to at least get a full innings in on Tuesday which saw some positive performances.

In the first meeting between the two sides that took place yesterday, the hosts won the toss and put the Falcons in to bat first. The visitors would go on to reach 180-6 from their 20 overs, with wicketkeeper Brooke Guest top scoring with an unbeaten 40 from 27 balls to help guide Derbyshire to a competitive total. Luis Reece made a good contribution thanks to his score of 37 from 21 deliveries, while opener Yousaf Bin Naeem smashed four sixes on his way to a rapid 33 from 18 balls. Durham’s biggest bowling threat was Luke Robinson who secured figures of 3-28.
