Falcons Defeat Foxes As Madsen Bids T20 Farewell

Derbyshire Falcons cruised to a seven wicket victory over Leicestershire Foxes in the North Group of the Vitality Blast at The OurCoop County Ground, in a result which saw the Falcons end a seven-match streak without a win in the T20 competition.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first, as Mickey Arthur named an unchanged Falcons side. Despite this being effectively a dead rubber match with both sides unable to advance to the quarter-finals, the game was still hugely significant from a historic and emotional perspective with Wayne Madsen appearing for the last time in the T20 format for the Falcons. With this in mind, the match couldn't have started any better for the 42 year-old, as he took both catches for the first couple of Foxes wickets to delight the home crowd.
