Following an even day yesterday, Derbyshire succumbed to the might of league leaders Durham on a chastening second day at the Riverside in Chester-le-Street. Only Ben Aitchison could really come out following the first innings with a credible performance after picking up his second five-wicket haul in as many matches.
Durham added 75 runs to their overnight score when they were finally bowled out for 377. However, Derbyshire will be frustrated as their age old problem of failing to bowl out the lower order reared its ugly head again. Durham’s last three wickets scored a total of 113 to frustrate the Derbyshire seam attack.
