Derbyshire have drawn and lost in their opening two rounds of fixtures, when they could easily have had two wins, but for a defiant Worcestershire side with the bat and a rampant James Anderson with the ball.
Derbyshire supporters could rightly be frustrated with the County’s start to the campaign having got into a position twice to win their opening fixtures. “Same old Derbyshire” were some of the flippant responses via the social media sites. However, in both games, Derbyshire had taken it to the opposition and were favourites at one stage to win both matches, the draw and loss were not combined with Derbyshire being outplayed at all, apart from the final day batting collapse at Old Trafford.
