Well, to paraphrase Sir Alex Ferguson, 'Cricket, bloody hell!' What a final day, what a match. The County Championship is just something else, isn't it? Derbyshire beat Kent at The OurCoop County Ground by 181 runs in a great response to last week's bitterly disappointing defeat away at Gloucestershire. However, despite the margin of victory, Kent's dogged resistance after going five wickets down meant that there were only 15 balls remaining of the match when the victory was finally secured in dramatic fashion.

That first hour of the final day then. Goodness me! Ben Aitchison was a man on a mission as he took five wickets at the start of day four to leave Kent in all sorts of trouble on 38-5. The seamer has had an excellent year and that opening hour was yet another reminder of just how crucial he now is to Derbyshire's setup.
