Derbyshire Falcons are now on a run of six Vitality Blast games without a win, as Somerset beat Mickey Arthur's side by 27 runs in the group stage at The OurCoop County Ground in Derby. Derbyshire's past three T20 matches consisted of two tied matches and a four run defeat, but the conclusion to this contest was a much more straightforward affair as the visitors comfortably sealed four points on the road.

The hosts made one change to the side following Monday's clash against Lancashire Lightning, with Harry Came replacing Amrit Basra for his first Vitality Blast appearance of the year. The 2025 Vitality Blast champions won the toss and elected to bat first.
