Derbyshire Falcons Women were knocked out of the Vitality Women’s T20 County Cup in the third round earlier today, following a 75 run defeat to Northamptonshire Steelbacks Women at The Copper Yard in Denby. This marks the second weekend in a row that the Steelbacks have been victorious over Jon Dyson’s side in the T20 format.
The Falcons won the toss and elected to field first. Derbyshire got off to an encouraging start when they secured their first wicket with just the third delivery of the match. However, Northamptonshire recovered well from this very early setback and scored quickly and clinically to reach 195-4 from their 20 overs.
