Despite losing two of their most experienced limited over players in Nye Donald and Matthew Montgomery to The Hundred, the Falcons can include Shoaib Bashir to their squad and the spinner could be in line to make his debut in the competition for Derbyshire.
The Derbyshire top order will be hampered as they are without Luis Reece (personal reasons), Amrit Basra (thumb injury) and their leading run-scorer in last season’s competition, Caleb Jewell, who has not been contracted for One-Day Cup this year. Long-term injuries in the bowling department continue for Pat Brown and Harry Moore, and neither are expected to feature in the competition.
