Pakistan beat a Professional County Club Select XI side by seven wickets in a three-day warm-up match at The County Ground in Beckenham ahead of the Shaheens' three-match test series against England. There was much interest in this match from a Derbyshire perspective, as both Shoaib Bashir and Muhammad Abbas featured in the game.

The PCC Select XI won the toss and elected to bat first. Captained by Sussex's Tom Haines, the PCC were all out for 305 with Northamptonshire's Saif Zaib the top scorer following his knock of 65 from 69 balls. Middlesex's Caleb Falconer and Surrey's Matt Fisher also claimed half centuries along with Haines. Bashir came to the crease to bat right at the very end of the innings and was dismissed for a duck after facing 16 deliveries. Abbas performed well with the ball for Pakistan and claimed figures of 3-37 from his 10 overs which included three maidens.
