Derbyshire remain in the driving seat following the second day of their County Championship Division Two match at the Seat Unique Stadium against bottom-of-the-table Gloucestershire.
Starting the day on 62-5, Ed Middleton edged behind early on to Brooke Guest off the bowling of Ben Aitchison to leave the hosts really struggling on 80-6. While confidence is clearly low within the Gloucestershire camp (they approached this match with a record of nine defeats from their 10 games in this year's competition), Mark Alleyne's side did at least show some grit and defiance to frustrate Derbyshire. This was thanks in main to an excellent century from James Bracey. The wicketkeeper battled his way to a score of 113 before finally being dismissed off the bowling of all-rounder Martin Andersson.
