With the Vitality Blast campaign completed for another year and eight matches down in Division Two of the County Championship, we've reached the halfway stage of Derbyshire's 2026 season. Whilst there is still plenty of cricket to come with the last six red ball matches and the Metro Bank One-Day Cup competition ahead of us, it's worth reflecting on what we've seen so far from Mickey Arthur's side.
The 2026 season has certainly been a curious one from a Derbyshire perspective. Plenty of highs. Plenty of lows. As it stands, the club sit fifth in Division Two of the County Championship with three wins, one draw and four defeats from their eight matches so far. Derbyshire are currently 18 points behind second-placed Kent with six games remaining, and can still earn promotion if they can produce a strong finish in the run-in.
