The start of the 2026 season is almost upon us! Mickey Arthur’s side get their new campaign underway against Worcestershire at The Central Co-op County Ground in Division Two of the County Championship on Friday 3rd April.

To whet the appetite, let’s look back at how Derbyshire fared in their past five season curtain-raisers:

2021 - Derbyshire drew away at Warwickshire

The 2021 campaign saw the County Championship season start with a group stage before moving onto a division stage. In Group 1, Derbyshire began their campaign with a trip to Warwickshire, which saw a low-scoring match take place at Edgbaston Stadium.
