Derbyshire Falcons Women beat Leicestershire Foxes Women yesterday to secure their first points on the board in this year's Metro Bank Women's One-Day Cup.

Derbyshire Falcons Women beat Leicestershire Foxes Women by 30 runs yesterday at Uppingham School to record their first win in the Metro Bank Women's One-Day Cup since the major revamp to the domestic women's game ahead of the 2025 season. The victory also puts an end to an eight-match losing streak for the team in all competitions.

Derbyshire won the toss and elected to bat first as Jon Dyson named an unchanged starting lineup. The visitors reached 272-8 from their 50 overs, thanks in main to an excellent century from Frances Lonsdale. Batting at number three, Lonsdale scored 106 from 114 deliveries in an innings which included 15 fours, to secure her second ton of the season.
