Gloucestershire Women beat Derbyshire Falcons Women by 19 runs yesterday at the Seat Unique Stadium in League Two of the Metro Bank Women's One-Day Cup. The loss marks the Falcons' eighth defeat in a row in all competitions.
The start of the match was delayed for some time. On their official Facebook account, Derbyshire County Cricket Club stated that "an overnight irrigation malfunction has led to areas of the square being under water, resulting in a delay to the start." Thankfully, the issue was eventually resolved and a shortened game could still take place. Due to the delay, the crowd witnessed a 33 over match rather than a 50 over contest.
