Derbyshire Behind the Eight Ball After Day Two

Worcestershire 214 and 203-9 (Waite 73*, Gibbon 21*, M Abbas 4-63) lead Derbyshire 88, by 329 runs.

The Pears were forced to rebuild from 88-7 after Mohammed Abbas (4-63) wreaked havoc with the hosts and threw the visitors a lifeline on another enterprising start to the day.

Still ahead in the match, Waite hit back and cashed in having been dropped twice on single figures in a stand of 51 with Tom Taylor that set the hosts back on course, pushing the Worcestershire lead past 200.

The all-rounder cut loose in the evening session to frustrate Derbyshire, but saw his charge cut short when bad light stopped play shortly before 5pm with his side in control of the match.
