Shoaib Bashir will become the first Derbyshire player to play Test cricket for England since Dominic Cork in 2002 when he takes the field for the opening Test match of the summer against New Zealand on Thursday. The England selectors will return their faith in Bashir having not selected him for the Ashes series in Australia over the winter.
